Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 will cater to city commuting but its technical details remain under wraps; will enter production in early 2026
At the 2024 EICMA show in Milan, Royal Enfield introduced the Flying Flea C6 while its scrambler variant was also teased. The Chennai-based brand has already started showcasing the FF-C6 across India and here we have brought you exclusive spy pictures of the first-ever EV from the retro motorcycle maker ahead of its market arrival.
The test mule suggests the existence of all-LED lighting, black alloy wheels and split seats. The FF-C6 will cater to city commuting but its technical details remain under wraps and it will enter production in early 2026. Boasting a retro-modern approach, the slim C6 features a forged aluminium girder-style front fork inspired by pre-war motorcycle engineering. The structural element is paired with an articulating front mudguard, maintaining design consistency with the original 1940s Flying Flea.
Royal Enfield confirmed earlier that the Flying Flea range would be built on a forged aluminium frame and use a magnesium battery housing. The battery casing’s form integrates front and rear fins which transforms into a central wing shape. A round digital touchscreen instrument cluster will help retain a classic silhouette.
RE had already noted that keyless ignition via smartphone and OTA firmware upgrades would be standard while a bespoke chip would handle the VCU (Vehicle Control Unit) processing. According to Royal Enfield, it orchestrates over two-lakh combinations of ride settings, adapting acceleration, braking and regenerative feedback based on rider inputs.
Other key highlights of the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 include lean-sensing ABS and cruise control. The Flying Flea C6 will be equipped with a domestic three-pin socket for charging. All aspects of the EV including the development, technical components like electric motor, battery, BMS and custom software have been developed in-house.
Royal Enfield has developed this program through a dedicated EV division comprising 200 personnel spread across India and the United Kingdom. The Flying Flea project also involves a manufacturing unit in Chennai, India. The zero-emission motorcycle will be available globally as well while an electrified Himalayan is also in the works.
