Royal Enfield Bullet 650 Twin could go on sale in India next year and it could be positioned below the recently launched Classic 650 Twin
Royal Enfield has a packed development pipeline aimed at Indian and global motorcyclists with brand new models brewing across multiple segments. While attention continues on bolstering the 650 cc lineup, the spotlight has gradually shifted to an entirely new family based around a 450 cc platform which has spawned the Guerrilla and Himalayan.
The brand is doubling down on its middleweight strategy with several new models expected to arrive over the next few years. An earlier internal roadmap – leaked some time ago – hinted at some intriguing additions: a fully-faired flagship café racer designed to sit at the top of the range, a dual-purpose adventure tourer influenced heavily by the Himalayan and a retro roadster with visual ties to the iconic Bullet.
Each of these upcoming motorcycles appears to be in line with Royal Enfield’s ongoing effort to balance modern engineering with heritage-inspired aesthetics while branching into segments that go beyond its traditional roots. Now, the trademark record for the Bullet 650 Twin name has surfaced online and thus signalling towards a market launch sometime next year.

The Bullet is one of the highly popular nameplates in the brand’s history and the longest running for a very good reason. Currently, the Bullet 350 is the second most affordable Royal Enfield motorcycle money can buy as it is positioned above the Hunter 350. Thus, a 650 cc parallel-twin machine with a Bullet moniker could become the most affordable 650 cc offering in India or it will be slotted below the recently introduced Classic 650 Twin.
Compared to other 650 cc motorcycles, it could have a slightly stripped down stance to be priced highly competitively – mostly just above the Rs. 3.1 lakh mark (ex-showroom). It is believed to sit on the same twin cradle frame as the other motorcycles in the flagship series and will derive power from a 648 cc parallel twin-cylinder oil-cooled fuel-injected engine.

The powertrain develops a maximum power output of just over 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque and is linked with a six-speed transmission while a slipper and assist clutch will be standard. It could come with features such as a semi-digital instrument console with Tripper Navigation pod and a familiar switchgear while front and rear disc brakes, assisted by a dual-channel ABS system will be available too.
