Royal Enfield Classic 650 takes strong design cues from the Classic 350 and is slated to launch on March 27 in India
Royal Enfield showcased an array of new motorcycles and concepts at the EICMA show in Milan and many of them also made an appearance at the Motoverse 2024 in Goa. One of the standout models was the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin which had been officially announced for a launch in January but the price announcement was delayed.
Now, we finally have a launch date as the retro motorcycle is slated to launch on March 27, 2025. The Royal Enfield Classic 650 takes strong design cues from the Classic 350, featuring a circular LED headlamp, a prominent front mudguard and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank. Maintaining the brand’s signature retro aesthetic, the Classic 650 blends vintage appeal with modern details.
It is equipped with a 648 cc parallel-twin engine that generates 47 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,650 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper/assist clutch. Sharing its chassis and braking components with the Shotgun 650, the Classic 650 also features a semi-digital instrument console with a tripper navigation pod.

The roadster distinguishes itself with its dual pea-shooter exhaust mufflers. Buyers will have a choice of four colour options namely Teal, Vallum Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue and Black Chrome. The motorcycle caters to several global markets as well alongside India as the reception for RE’s 450-650 cc range has largely been positive.
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 will find its place between the Shotgun 650 and the Super Meteor 650 in the brand’s portfolio. Notably, the top-spec variant of the Classic 650 is expected to be priced close to the base-spec Super Meteor 650, offering an appealing option for buyers. In the UK, it starts at £6,499 (Rs. 7.28 lakh).
