Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 is based on the regular Int 650 while having a scrambler stance that would make it more practical
Royal Enfield’s brand new 650 cc offering has been leaked in a production-spec rendering ahead of its global debut at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. Dubbed the Interceptor Bear 650, it is one of the motorcycles we anticipated to see in the coming months following the name trademark and the frequent spotting of test mules. As expected, it has several commonalities with the existing 650 cc range while maintaining its own identity.
It is no secret that the Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 is based on the Int 650 while having a scrambler stance that would make it more practical. It features a circular LED headlamp, slim fuel tank, single-piece seat, a tubular grab rail and minimalistic body panels. Just like the headlamp, the circular LED tail lamp also has a chrome casing with LED turn signals emerging from its sides.
Most of these features can be found on other Royal Enfield 650 cc offerings. What sets the Interceptor Bear 650 apart is the presence of a two-into-one exhaust system that makes the motorcycle more compact and off-road friendly. The contrast body graphics and finishes give the Int Bear a street-style motorcycle look and is built on the same twin cradle chassis with apparent modifications.

As for the performance, the familiar 648 cc parallel twin-cylinder engine comes into play. It produces a maximum power output of just over 47 PS and 52 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain is linked with a six-speed transmission while a slipper and assist clutch will be available as standard. Considering the changes to the exhaust system, we do expect it to sound different and be lighter as well.
It also features a floating single-pod instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. The suspension duties are performed upside down front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear while the braking hardware comprises front and rear disc brakes, assisted by a dual-channel ABS system. It runs on wire-spoked wheels shod on block pattern rubber.

In a similar fashion to other 650 cc motorcycles, the Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 will be offered in an expansive range with multiple paint schemes to choose from. We can expect it to make its local debut at the MotoVerse event in Goa and the prices could start around Rs. 3.1 lakh (ex-showroom).
