The Classic 650 marks the sixth addition to Royal Enfield’s 650cc lineup, catering to both Indian and international markets; local launch in January

Royal Enfield hosted the global debut of a host of new motorcycles and concepts at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy and most of them have been showcased at the ongoing Motoverse 2024 festival in Vagator, Goa. One of them is the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin, which will go on sale in early 2025 in India.

The design of the Classic 650 takes significant inspiration from the Classic 350. As the latest addition to Royal Enfield’s 650cc motorcycle lineup, it inherits key elements such as the circular LED headlamp, mudguard, and fuel tank from its smaller sibling. The most noticeable difference compared to the Classic 350 is the dual pea-shooter exhaust muffler.

The motorcycle will be offered in a variety of colour options including Teal, Vallum Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue and Black Chrome. In India, test rides, bookings, and deliveries are set to start in January 2025 while reservations for the United Kingdom and European markets have already opened as RE expects high volume sales.

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is equipped with a 648cc parallel-twin engine, delivering 47 bhp at 7250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of peak torque at 5650 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and features a standard slipper/assist clutch for smoother gear shifts. The retro offering shares its chassis and braking components with the Shotgun 650. It is equipped with a semi-digital instrument console, complemented by a tripper navigation pod.

The Classic 650 is outfitted with LED lighting, adjustable levers, and a dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety. It features a 19-inch front and an 18-inch rear spoked wheel with tubed tyres. The suspension duties are handled by 43 mm Showa telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear.
